The Columbus Blue Jackets are a popular topic of conversation this off-season, with the well-chronicled departures of star players, the beginning of a new era in goal, and a young team with expectations. Naturally, opinions vary quite a bit.

With the season on the horizon, NHL.com and NHL Network have teamed up to preview all the teams - part of their 31 in 31 series. Dan Rosen of NHL.com and Mike Johnson of NHL Network offered up their thoughts on various topics, including if Cam Atkinson can score 40+ without Artemi Panarin, if Josh Anderson has scratched the surface of his potential or if 27 goals is a good benchmark, the excitement surrounding young guns like Emil Bemstrom and Alexandre Texier, and wonder if the goaltending position will be strong enough to carry this team. Finally, they each give their prediction: is this a team that can repeat as a playoff team in 2019-20.

Do you agree with Rosen or with Johnson? Drop us a line in the comments.
