On February 8 and 9 in Columbus, the Blue Jackets will be hosting an analytics conference. After multiple other analytics conferences that have taken place across all of the United States, the team is putting on one of their own.

It will encompass February 7-9 with a social hour kicking off the weekend on February 7.

After that on the Saturday and Sunday, they will be having presentations and a hack-a-thon with multiple executives from other clubs present to see what the best and brightest can come up with.

Part of the description of Day 2:

"Our goal is to provide an opportunity for the most creative minds in the hockey analytics community to present their work and engage in discussions with executives from multiple NHL teams, including the Columbus Blue Jackets, Colorado Avalanche, New York Rangers, NHL Seattle and St. Louis Blues."

It is an opportunity to learn and for others it will be an opportunity to impress the industry with their knowledge.

Who knows, maybe the next Jarmo Kekalainen is in our very own backyard?
