Dude should be suspended a game. That is a cowards move.

Crosby sucks monkey butt.

Too bad it happened so late in the 3rd period. Would have LOVED to hear that homer announcing crew try and explain that one (insert sarcasm font)

I don't think he'll be suspended.  Harrington didn't appear to be hurt.

63 is a.....'pest'.  But he's mostly been quiet.

He's beyond a pest, he's a dirty player and I wouldn't have a problem if someone, some day (and I don't mean a Jacket in this series, just anyone) was to cause the buttwipe a career ending injury.

Where's Dale Hunter when you need him?

I view it as a sign he knows he's been shut down.  I would hope DPS would do something, but I'm not holding my breath.

Six down, ten to go!

(1)  When you've been rendered a complete and total non-factor to this point in the series, you've got to get noticed in other ways.  Toolbag way to go about it, but it is Marchand, after all.

(2)  I understand retaliation is a part of hockey, and I get it, but I hope our guys just continue to focus on the task at hand.  We're up 2-1 in this series, and it could very easily be 3-0, so I hope we don't start changing what we do because of this dirtball just to get back at him.  Keep doing what we've been doing, and smirk at him in the handshake line before he sets his first tee time and we're off to the ECF.

If Marchand doesn’t care about his team enough to pass on a cheap shot, why should the league officials fret about suspending him for a critical Game 4?

Best line in the article, and also 100% correct.

He absolutely deserves a suspension, as should anyone that sucker punches a guy in the head from behind. It's exactly the kind of crap the NHL claims that they want to get rid of. However, they won't even consider it because "it's part of hockey" or something.

The best part of the whole episode is how he immediately skates away like a scared little.....

Yeah, Marchand is a punk bitch and always has been. Hes like a toddler that tests limits. Didnt get a penalty for breaking Cam's stick in game 1, so n iu w it's a cheap shot rabbit punch. If hes nic disciplined for this, I expect it to elevate. Hopefully, the refs and or the league step in before he does something worse and injured someone.

DPS definitely won't suspend him. They should have a hearing with him and maybe Fine him a bit but there was no real harm done. He's just trying to get into their heads and I don't think it worked because Boone Jenner didn't immediately go after him. He's a rat, and he'll always be a rat and it's something that should bother the Bruins about him, but he's much too small to do any real damage. Now if he had crosschecked Harrington in the head with his stick I think it'd be different. But he didn't, and wishing career-ending harm on people is weird.

Mostly this just shows that the boys in blue are in Marchand's head. He's having a tough time because he's not scoring and that frustration is getting him to make dumb decisions. I imagine his coach will have some things to say to him, but the NHL won't.

It is an obnoxious and childish move, but hopefully the Jacket's don't come into Game 4 looking to lay him out because I think that's what he's hoping for. He wants you to try and get that big hit because he can make you miss and that will open up space for him to use his skillz. If the opportunity presents itself, I think Fligs or Boone or Seth can go big and lay him out and I'm sure they'll get a big ol' cheer out of it, but it's not something they need to be searching for in the 2nd Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs(!!!).

Sure, but what if I'M wrong and YOU'RE right? Did you think about that?!

This us a very fair and reasonable response. It's not the damage done from the action, but the precedent it sets by ignoring it. Again, hes such a douche, that I think his cheap shots will get worse. I'd be good with a fine (not that anyone is asking my opinion), and I'd be very fine with 77 dropping his ass

Oh my goodness can you imagine. Big Josh Anderson stops trying to put Chara into the bench and instead blows up Marchand's whole scene?! What a dream.

And I agree with the precedent but if the NHL cared about precedent they would have stepped in during game 2 when players were getting put into headlocks and sticks were being purposefully stepped on and broken for a potential advantage. It's the playoffs and they're going to let them play and I don't like it because it will get to a point where it goes too far and then someone gets their jaw broken (i.e Tom Wilson 2018 playoffs). And then that person doesn't get to play in the playoffs anymore while the offender gets 2 games and moves on to the next round.

Sure, but what if I'M wrong and YOU'RE right? Did you think about that?!

I think the jackets should retaliate by firing the cannon until he gets high-frequency hearing loss...

"Grandpa...tell me about that time you got owned in playoffs again."

"Eh, what's that you said sonny?"

The best part of this is that his grand kids hate him too and want to hear about all the times he got blasted in his sport.

Sure, but what if I'M wrong and YOU'RE right? Did you think about that?!

He is not going to get suspended, so lets all move on. I also agree with those that said the players need to retain their focus on playing their best game and winning this series, but let's look at the silver lining for a moment:

(1) As other folks have mentioned, we are seeing more of this from Marchand because the good guys are shutting him down and frankly are now in his head (as well is in the collective heads of the Rat's teammates).

(2) This clip has been all over the internet today, so let's remember the people he showed up and embarrassed are the officials. This means they will be keeping a much closer eye on him for the rest of this series and may even call a "make up" penalty (or two) on him to cover those they may have missed.

I forgot to add perhaps the most important "silver lining":

(3) Harrington wasn't (or at least didn't appear to be) injured.

I'm enjoying the names I"m hearing 63 be called: the most popular is rat, but troll, douche, @sshole, lil f***er all work too.

My brother said, "big nose, no chin....it's a RAT."
