I was reading somewhere (forget where) that while Werenski is an RFA - his main "negotiating" power with CBJ is that we have had an exodus of UFA's. The last thing the Jackets need is an offer sheet and an RFA leaving. I dunno, take it for what its worth. I don't see Jarmo letting this guy go.
“Because it’s not worth winning if you can’t win big!”
If Jarmo and the front office don’t get Zach signed - and let him go via an offer sheet - this offseason will go from disaster to unmitigated disaster!!!
There is a roughly 0.000000000000000000000001% chance that ever happens.
Never say never - this is our CBJ we’re talking about.
The Jackets have the cap space to match any offer sheet Zack signs. No worries.
Don't panic, Zach isn't going anywhere. In the unlikely event of an offer sheet Jarmo will just match it and the summer long waiting game will come to a close, much like the Carolina - Aho saga.
I would add on to this that offer sheets have a stigma of being "underhanded." And GM's in general don't like to loose on them when they are put out there (see Montreal) and since the Jackets have quite a bit of cap space, that would probably happen to anyone who put an offer sheet out there.
