Alexandre Texier’s Future Return Poses Good Problem

This is like choosing your favorite kid.

I think Tex definitely makes it into the lineup when he is healthy and he won't be a scratch unless his play shows deterioration. That being said, it's so hard to scratch someone when this team has had so much success with what they have. If it's not broke, don't fix it. You have to commend Torts and every other coach for having to play his game each night because it's a game that you rarely have a winner. Between injuries, individual play, and chemistry, there's no set formula for success. But I still think Tex will get his spot back and I agree that it'll probably be on the 2nd line in place of Bemstrom.

I think Anderson will take Robinson's place but Andy will move up to the 3rd line with Fligs and Boone, pushing Gerbe down to 4th line with Nash and Bemstrom, who will push Lilja out.

I'd say send him to Cleveland for a bit, let him develop some consistency in play, then make a decision

One could argue a "conditioning stint" in Cleveland would be wise but I do think he ends up back in the lineup sooner or later...when he is healthy.

This word you keep saying...I don't think it means what you think it means.

Is he better then what we have right now? Things are clicking - let it roll for a while.

I agree Philly Buckeye. The team has been playing well with its current roster, so there is no need to rush him. Combine that with the fact that Tex has looked over matched at times this year, so a trip to Cleveland may help in his development. If it's a five game reconditioning stint or for twenty games, just bring him back when the staff in Cleveland says he is ready.

What about experimenting with Tex at center some more?  Then the question isn't Tex vs. Milano/Andy/Bemstrom but whether to scratch Wenny.

Exactly! I've said that he has the tools to be a very good #2C since last summer. Stick him there, leave him there and let Wennberg sit around counting his money or whatever.

I thought he was originally drafted as a center and we've never had great depth at the position anyway. But yes, if he can get more playing time and some confidence, I think it would be great to swap him and Wennberg. At least one of the two knows how to shoot

Definitely agree he could step in for Wennberg...though I’d be tentative to bench Wennberg longterm when we are paying him so much which would kill (any) trade value he has left. If you’d be fine with losing Wennberg for nothing, then Tex could be experimented in his role, but I think it’s worth considering Wennberg’s situation!

So, put Wennberg on the wing, 3rd or 4th line, every three or so games. Maybe, just maybe, he'll do something worthwhile without hurting us very much. (Though I'd lay long odds against it. The sooner he goes back to Europe to stay, the better.)

Yes, we can agree Lilja goes to Cleveland.

But it does get dicey after that.  Another consideration is how many dmen are healthy?  I think we sent Peeke down so we are back to 8.  I think Murray is still out.

So as long as Murray is out you can scratch Harrington and two of Bemstrom, Milano, Robinson and Tex.  If all teh dmen are healthy you can only keep one extra fwd.

BTW, it's interesting that Korpi has been a scratch through his injury.  There must be a money reason for that...

Barring other trades or injuries, somebody will have to be sent down.  it won't be Milano.  I'd think the rest can be.

It'll be interesting to watch.

I don't think there's any reason to Korpisalo not going on IR other than there's no reason to do it. They've used emergency recalls on other guys and are perfectly fine with the roster makeup at the moment, so they don't need the roster spot. They can move Koprisalo to IR in 30 seconds if they need to/want to. And with no cap concerns, the LTIR relief is irrelevant as well.

Give Texier a shot at Center, with Nick or Andy on one of his Wings, for more room....haha....

Wennberg can sit with Rimer(most games) and see what he should've been doing for the last couple years. Gerbe and Robinson stay in, unless either loses their "energy" and/or scoring touch.

Milano, Bemmer, and Stenlund rotate in/out, by who's hot, and by who the opponent is that night. Lilja back to Cleveland.
