Seth Jones Leaves Game vs. Colorado With Injury (UPDATE: Placed On IR)

I was lucky enough to be at last night's game. The air went out of the building when Seth went down. Even though like a true warrior, he came back, he definitely looked stiff for the rest of the night. The medical staff wouldn't let him come back if he could have done further damage, but many of those injuries tend to stiffen up post game so it wouldn't shock me if he missed Monday's game.

Out indefinitely, Carlsson called up to take his roster spot. Who gets the thankless task of joining Z on the first pairing?

My vote is Gavrikov for first pair, but the real question becomes is: how much longer is Ryan Murray out? I know it is not a "replacement" for one of the best D men in the league, (and I'm not  suggesting he go on the first pairing) but I feel comfortable adding Peeke to the mix. He has looked solid every time I've seen him in the line up.

The beat goes on...Other than Pittsburgh, has there been another team that has lost more games to injury than the CBJ?

Sounds like it's Nutivaara. Probably don't want to break up Gavrikov-Savard.

I certainly wouldn't want to

Hopefully Murray can come back soon. Until then Nutivaara will have to hold down the fort on the #1 pairing.

@OWSH - Thankless job of being paired with Z? Not quite sure what you mean?

Z is offense minded, Jones plays a more balanced game which compensates. (Yes, I know, Z's defense is improving. Hang with me.) While the rest of the d-men have their strengths and weaknesses, none play the balanced game Jones does. Which Z needs. Watching him, Z reminds me of Bobby Orr. While everyone remembers Orr's offense, few remember his pairing partners who had Jones' role.

I would agree mostly... I would also say though that it is Jones' solid D that allows Z to roam up on offense and score which I don't know that he would do AS much with Jones.... But we shall see I suppose.
