Yeah that was a tough loss here although it felt like the Avs had a lot of the momentum tonight.
Gerbe got absolutely wrecked on that first goal allowed. I love his spirit but sometimes mass is more important. Jarmo, if you're listening, we need a forward.
Like getting a forward is easy. Basically, all Jarmo has to offer is defensemen. Problem being, the closer we get to the TDL, the more defensemen said to be available and most of them are better than the defensemen that are likely the ones Jarmo is willing to trade. It's probably time to accept that, except maybe Josh Anderson being traded, the roster the Jackets have right now is the one that we'll have on the last day of the season.
FWIW, I read on a Canadian site (TSN, I think) that Boston is the team most interested in getting Josh Anderson. In that article, it was stated that a second round draft pick is the offer on the table.
No thanks! (1) Odds are for the next few years at least, the road to the Stanley Cup will have to go through Boston so we will likely play them again in either the first or second round. I have no desire to help them get better! and (2) Second, a second round pick, likely between the 55th and 60th overall pick, is no where near enough for a proven performer like Josh. Just forget about it and lose Jarmo's phone number while you are at it!!
This is what I have mentioned in previous posts: Jarmo isn't trying to move Josh. Given his off year, other teams are trying to steal him from us (or "buy low").

And a goalie who was a 2020 All-Star Game selection.
As I, and a couple of others, noted in another thread, goalies are almost never traded in season. The only one I can recall in the decades I've been a fan is Roy going from Montreal to Colorado. And he forced the issue. Point being, when either Elvis or Korpi ( and, quite probably, VV) is traded, it will be at the draft or after, not in time to help, this season.
Ryan Miller was the last one of note in-season that I can recall.
I stand corrected. I completely forgot about that one. You'd think that, in season goalie trades being so rare, each one would stand out. But you know that they say the second sign of old age is a failing memory. I forget what the first sign is.
But I believe my point still stands. In season, Jarmo's primary trade chips are defensemen and there are a lot of defensemen said to be available at this time. So, I believe we'll have to wait until the off season for any significant trades to be made.
We were due to lose. Especially when you score as little as we have lately. It’s really really hard to win 1-0 in the NHL - and we’ve been living on that ledge for a while now. We really need some forward help at the deadline - and where is the powerplay. Appears it’s broken again.
Another huge game Monday. Time to move on from this one.
The power play has been a mess for two months. I think since 12/1, it's the second worst in the league, ahead of only Detroit. Turns out Brad Larsen wasn't the devil incarnate holding it back.
Thought the team played fine, just couldn't finish. They were due for a bit of a slide back given how high the shooting % had gone. They're back at league average, but you can't shoot 15% or whatever it was for 75% of the season.
