We've all said it many times, but it's crazy this team is still even in the thick of things. The 81 points they have is tied for the second-most in franchise history. With this roster. Well done, Torts. Well done.
This team has played really great defensively for the better part of six periods, but a lapse here, a bounce there, and all they have is two Ls to show for it.
Our winner, chosen at random.
Congrats! You're our winner, chosen at random among the two other submissions that correctly had 32 shots.
Basically, all Jarmo has to offer is defensemen.
And a goalie who was a 2020 All-Star Game selection.
The power play has been a mess for two months. I think since 12/1, it's the second worst in the league, ahead of only Detroit.
I hear you, but if you dominate the scoreboard, that's a facet.
The NFL has owners meetings where the league sets the direction on rules and other pressing issues. In the NHL, governors do that and it's set up that you don't have to be the owner to be a governor of the team. There are also alternate governors like Jarmo currently is.
As for the name, thank the British influence on Canada, I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm honestly at peace with it. Goalies in the NHL are similar to running backs in the NFL. There are a lot of guys who can give you good outings – they just need the minutes, and I think if you look at the four remaining goalies in the postseason, you can get a vibe for that (Rusk being the only one considered a potential star).
Give me offense, great d-men, and a decent goalie and I'm fine.
It's not going to be an easy property to sell, but if/when it does, JLGP is going to get paid.
It's basically DUTCH-eee
I think the team's performance will be what ultimately decides that. I don't tend to hate on bandwagon fans because that's how a lot of big fanbases are built. Here's hoping for another run in the postseason next year.
Right, but would he be a big loss if he left? McQuaid and Kinkaid are also UFAs. This article is about guys whose departure would sting.
I had no idea other fans referred to the city as “Lumbus.” Is that really a thing?
That's awesome. I'm definitely jealous.
That's a great question. Winning has is a hell of a retention drug, so if they make a deep push, I think both Bob and Bread are in play to re-sign.
Great minds. I'm working on that story right now.
