They will, eventually, regress to the norm and come off the current pace they’re on. One thing that leads me to believe they will regress a bit is their abysmal power play. They’re going to need to capitalize on the man advantage more often down the stretch to get points from some of these swing games.
Q is definitely write about the logic of when it is best to trade, but the trade deadline and optimism of making the playoffs sometimes pushes logic by the wayside. Despite injury-riddled seasons there still has to be plenty of organizations that value both Anderson and Murray. While they could be worth more, they could still fetch a decent piece when packaged together.
The thought isn’t that trading Murray would get the Blue Jackets the piece(s) they need, but more an additive alongside Anderson to sweeten the pot a little. Yeah, he’s been injured A LOT, but he is a very skilled defenseman nonetheless.
