A Reasonable Playoff Format

While I don't have a problem with the current playoff format, I have been reading a lot of complaints about it. So, here's what I consider a reasonable formal.
1) Eliminate the wild card. The top four teams in each division go to the playoffs. (That's still half of the league.)
2) The first round match ups are:
Metro 1 v Atlantic 4. Pacific 1 v Central 4
Metro 2 v Atlantic 3. Pacific 2 v Central 3
Metro 3 v Atlantic 2. Pacific 3 v Central 2
Metro 4 v Atlantic 1. Pacific 4 v Central 1

3) The following rounds match ups should be obvious until the Eastern Conference and Western Conference champions meet in the finals.

Being something of a traditionalist, I would eliminate regular season overtime. Nobody complains about ties in soccer and returning to in season ties eliminates the idiotic 3 point game. Two points for a win, one point for a tie, nothing for a loss. Besides, I am of the opinion that many coaches play for the loser point. Take away overtime and they have to play for the win.
