Columbus entered the day tied for last in the league with the San Jose Sharks with 70 third-period goals allowed. Columbus gave up three more tonight after entering the third period tied at one. Edmonton had 26 giveaways to 13 for Columbus.

Before tonight, their longest road stretch was two games. They haven't played consecutive road games since November.
Columbus will make another five-game trip, Mar. 19-28.
Feb. 10 marks the next home game for the Blue Jackets when they battle the Tampa Bay Lightning.
