The Columbus Blue Jackets are floundering offensively but they are bringing in a familiar face to shore up their special teams.

The Blue Jackets have hired Paul MacLean, former Ottawa Senators head coach to be an assistant coach on the team's staff. MacLean also won the Jack Adams trophy for his efforts with the team during the 2012-13 campaign.

"I've always said that we look at every opportunity to make our team better and adding a veteran coach with a winning pedigree like Paul MacLean to a staff that has led us to three-straight appearances in the Stanley Cup Playoffs does just that," said Blue Jackets General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen via a press release.

The Blue Jackets are currently 24th in the league in power play percentage and 22nd in the league on the penalty kill.
