Well, it was fun while it lasted.

The Blue Jackets' streak was destined to end in a game like this: a spectacular performance from a visiting goaltender, aided by some untimely offensive issues on the finishing end.

Jake Allen was awesome for the Blues and stole two points. He made 31 saves to keep their playoff hopes alive, and Vladimir Tarasenko scored the game-winning goal in the second period.

That's five straight wins for the Blues, and the Blue Jackets dropped to a measly 10-1-0 in their last 11 games.

Cam Atkinson was one of the more dangerous Blue Jackets in this game, and appeared to have scored a goal in the first period that was called back for a kicking motion. He would eventually score an important goal in the second period, pulling the Blue Jackets within a goal.

Injury Update

Seth Jones (day-to-day, upper body) played in this game. Lukas Sedlak (upper body) did not play, and Brandon Dubinsky took his place in the lineup.

The Blue Jackets head to western Canada this week, with games against the Oilers, Flames and Canucks on tap beginning Tuesday night in Edmonton.
