After spotting the Edmonton Oilers a 3-0 first period lead, the Blue Jackets responded by scoring a touchdown and hitting the extra point for good measure for a 7-3 win. Here's the reaction from inside the locker room:

John Tortorella

On his assessment of the beginning of the game, even being down 3-0: "We were playing good. I have no problem. I thought we had a great start. Bob turns one over, fluky goal. Sonny turns one over, and they score a power play goal, but I don't think we missed a beat as far as how we were playing. We found a way."

On the team's ability to stay the course: "There was zero panic on the bench. It's frustrating, you get in that situation where you think you're playing well, but it's just a crazy period. And for us to come back and get three before the period even ends, it's just nuts. It's a big win for us, so we'll just move on and practice tomorrow."

On the stellar play of Pierre-Luc Dubois: "I don't wanna pick out one guy, but Luc... he played at a different level tonight, for me, as far as his strength on the puck. He didn't score all the goals, but I watch a young kid, being our number one center, playing mostly against McDavid tonight, I was totally impressed with him. The thing I liked about him was he was just so strong. I marvel at him some time. The future for that kid - there's no limit there."

Alexander Wennberg

On his plus-six record: "Apparently I stepped on (the ice) at the right time. I don't know if I took some from Luc (Pierre-Luc Dubois) or not. It's just one of those games, I don't know if I'm involved in any goals, sometimes you're just on (the ice), but obviously it's nice to get those pluses. To get the win is the most important, obviously."

On his team's response to adversity: "We talked about having a good start to the road trip. Tough start to the game, but we just showed character to bounce back, and for us to score a lot of goals was good for the confidence."

Thomas Vanek

On his team's resilience: "I don't think we played bad, really. It never felt like a 3-0 game. It's a good team with high-end skill, we made a couple mistakes and they buried it. We just talked about, let's get the next one, and we did a good job to stay sharp and bring energy."

On his goal that made it 3-1: "It was good, we needed that bounce. Down three, that's tough in this league. So we knew the next one is huge for us, and we got a good bounce, and after that we kept coming."

On his hat-trick: "I mean, our line's been good. Again, I was the beneficiary today, and got a couple good bounces, but it's two points. Those are huge, especially to start this road trip. It was big for us."

Boone Jenner

On the team showing resolve in the comeback: "I don't think we started too bad, our first couple shifts were good. It's just a couple miscues- they get a lucky bounce off Bob. They get a shorthanded one after that with McDavid, and then they got a power play goal. We felt okay with our game, we just knew we had to get one to get us back in there. And Vans (Vanek) got that, and we kind of just took off from there."

On his goal: "To come out and get one in the first shift of the second (period) after scoring the last three in the first, we wanted to keep the momentum going. I was able to bat it in."
