Records are made to be broken. Unfortunately for Zach Werenski, some fall quicker than others.

With two points against the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight, center Pierre-Luc Dubois established a new record for rookie scoring by a Columbus Blue Jacket.

The 19-year-old Dubois, who has come on since moving to center full-time, has 17 points since the trade deadline and now has 48 points (21-27-48) on the season. With one game remaining, he has a chance to put a little padding on his record.

Werenski set the club record in the 2016-17 season with 47 points, topping Rick Nash's, the previous record-holder's 39-point season in 2002-03.

You don't need to be neck-deep into hockey analytics to see the Blue Jackets are stockpiling young talent. The future in Columbus is indeed bright.
