Oof.

On Friday afternoon, the Blue Jackets announced that Max Domi underwent successful surgery to repair a labral tear in his right shoulder. The surgery took place on Thursday, and if everything goes according to plan, he'll miss five to six months.

"Max had been experiencing some discomfort in his shoulder, which he brought to our attention last week and a subsequent examination revealed a labral tear," said Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen in a statement. "It was determined that surgery was the best course of action and we look forward to Max's return early next season."

The current timeline will see Domi miss at least the first month of the 2021-22 NHL season. Gustav Nyquist missed the entirety of the 2020-21 season with a labral tear in his left shoulder.
