Getting off to a strong start on their two-game road trip out west, the Blue Jackets grabbed a 2-1 victory over the Dallas Stars to snap a five-game winless streak. Here is the reaction from inside the locker room:

John Tortorella

On the game: "We had a really good first period, (and the) second period here tonight...we didn't get out clean a couple times. You could see it just getting away from us for a couple minutes, but we just settle ourselves down and get back to our game."

On whether the third line set the tone: "I thought everybody contributed."

On the third period bounce back: "It's [Oliver Bjorkstrand] too, a guy that we need. He's made some good offensive plays but has kind of been... haven't seen him that much of late. He had a great shot I think in the first period, and just to see him get into some wide open ice to use that shot was encouraging tonight."

On blocked shots: "It's all part of defending. It's what we have to do."

On David Savard's head save: "It's a turnover, [Tyler] Motte makes the wrong decision where he brings it back in the endzone, he could have turned right up and get going. But Savy, he gives up his body all the time. One of our best shot blockers."

Lukas Sedlak

On the forecheck: "I thought we were really strong on the forecheck. We were getting all the pucks, they turned a couple over, we got a couple chances, and we didn't play that much in the [defensive] zone until the end of the game."

On Oliver Bjorkstrand: "Whenever he plays with me, I'm telling him 'Shoot the puck.' He has such a dangerous release and he showed that tonight."

Jack Johnson

On looking "ready" for the Stars: "I think a huge kudos goes to our forwards, they were very responsible tonight. Made it much easier for us to defend as defensemen."

On patiently awaiting the game to break open: "That's what Torts was preaching in between periods. We were sound defensively and figured that they would get frustrated, something would open up for us. You just can't be the first one to crack."

Sergei Bobrovsky

On the game: "[The] guys were great tonight. They made, I would say, a sacrifice. [David Savard] made the save of the night there with the back of his head, and Jack [Johnson] made some great blocks at the perfect times.

"I thought we played as one team, as one unit."
