We told you the chatter would pick up.

Just yesterday, Elliotte Friedman mentioned Boone Jenner's name in his weekly "31 Thoughts" column, indicating he may be a candidate for a fresh start elsewhere. It hasn't been a fun season for Jenner but he's got company among the Blue Jackets' mainstays up front.

Add another outlet who's been hearing Jenner's name out there in the pre-trade deadline rumor mill: TSN added Jenner to its "Trade Bait" list on Thursday, slotting him in at No. 13 among players most likely to be dealt before the Feb. 26 deadline.

Here's what Frank Seravalli had to say about Jenner:

Jenner is receiving 10 per cent more ice time this season under coach John Tortorella, but his offensive production is less than half of what it was two seasons ago when he hit 30 goals.

That would mean the Blue Jackets would have to sell low on Jenner, which doesn’t seem like GM Jarmo Kekalainen’s style, since he hung onto Cam Atkinson and watched him blossom after he was on the trade block two years ago. He is an intriguing name nonetheless.

Jenner, 24, has five goals and eight assists in 46 games this season. He is slated to become a restricted free agent on July 1 after making $2.9 million in 2017-18 (the second year of a bridge deal he signed with Columbus).
