Well folks, the Blue Jackets have a nice little streak going, with wins in their last three games. The Florida Panthers are hot on their tails, though, with a couple of games in hand on Columbus, so stretching the streak to four games is vital.

Here's what's on the docket tonight.

Matchup:

Detroit Red Wings at Columbus Blue Jackets
Nationwide Arena, 7:00 p.m.
TV: Fox Sports Ohio

What to Watch for:

  • The Red Wings got smoked last night by the Vegas Golden Knights, and are looking to bounce back tonight. After two decades of consistent excellence, the Wings are barreling towards a rebuild, and in position to get a top-ten draft pick.
  • Josh Anderson wasn't the only player this season to hold out through training camp. The other notable holdout was the Wings' Andreas Athanasiou who, like Anderson before his injury, has broken out in a big way. The speedy forward has 30 points – a career high – on a team that doesn't score much, and looks to be one of their building blocks as they look to rebuild.
  • Another good young stud on the Red Wings is Dylan Larkin, who leads the team with 49 points. The former University of Michigan standout burst onto the scene as a rookie, then had a bit of a sophomore slump, but he's been a great playmaker for the Wings so far this year, with a staggering 40 assists.

Tale of the Tape:

Red Wings

26-30-11 (5th in Atlantic Division)
PP: 18.5% (22nd) / PK: 78.1% (23rd)
5v5 Corsi: 48.74% (21st)

Blue Jackets

PP: 14.6% (30th) / PK: 77.1% (25th)
5v5 Corsi: 51.74% (6th)
