Defenseman Dean Kukan is staying in Columbus for the foreseeable future.

SwissHockeyNews.CH has reported that the Blue Jackets have re-signed Kukan to a one-way, two-year deal. According to the report, Kukan will earn $700,000 in the first year and will make $750,000 in his second year.

UPDATE: The Blue Jackets confirmed the deal on Wednesday afternoon.

Kukan is currently out with an upper-body injury and has played in 10 games this season, putting up four points (all assists). In those 10 games, Kukan has a 57.8 CF% at even strength, which puts him near the top of the team in that category.

Kukan has been in the Blue Jackets system for three years, starting with the Cleveland Monsters in 2015-16. They signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Switzerland.
