The Blue Jackets eked one out tonight.

Quick goals by Oliver Bjorkstrand and Boone Jenner and some huge saves by Sergei Bobrovsky had the Blue Jackets looking good early on, they held on for dear life, topping Philadelphia. For those counting along at home, that's six wins in a row for Columbus.

BLUE JACKETS 3 1 1 5
FLYERS 1 2 0 3

The Jackets never trailed – but it certainly wasn't an easy win. Cam Atkinson scored twice after the Bjorkstrand and Jenner goals to chase Flyers starter Petr Mrazek – who gave up four goals on just ten shots – but his replacement stood in valiantly.

Atkinson would complete the hat trick with less than a second remaining – sliding the puck into the empty net just before the final horn.

Rookie goalie Alex Lyon came on in relief of Mrazek and shut down the Blue Jackets until being pulled for the extra skater. On the other end, Bobrovsky withstood an onslaught from Philadelphia, making some dazzling saves – no better example than this one through traffic.

It's still far from a guarantee that the Blue Jackets make the playoffs, but tonight certainly helped their case.

Injury Update

Josh Anderson is not yet skating with the team, but is eyeing a return before the end of the regular season.

Next Up

The Jackets head home for a Saturday matchup with the Ottawa Senators before embarking on a quick trip to the East Coast for a Monday-Tuesday back-to-back with the Bruins and Rangers starting on Monday.
