Bread rises.

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Artemi Panarin always seems to rise to the occasion. He once again played out of his mind during the Blue Jackets' 5-3 win. This time it was against the New York Rangers, recording the first hat trick of his Blue Jackets career (and second career hat trick, both against the Rangers).

Each goal had a little bit of everything.

The first goal was off the rush when defenseman Ian Cole found Panarin streaking to the net.

The second goal was a case of persistence when a puck wasn't whistled dead and Panarin found it right in front of him. He snuck a backhand past Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist for a cheeky goal.

The final goal was an empty-netter but on this iso cam, you can see how hard Panarin worked for it. He really wanted the hat trick.

He didn't just score goals, either; he also added an assist on defenseman Markus Nutivaara's goal for a four-point night. Panarin now has 68 points in 74 games after his stellar night at MSG.
