Out for over a month now, forward Josh Anderson hasn't played in quite a while. A prominent part of the Columbus Blue Jackets offense, it will be a situation to monitor when he enters into the lineup.

Anderson is obviously antsy to get back and play.

"It's been a while since I've been out (on the ice)," said Anderson. "Watching isn't easy. Obviously, the team has been doing pretty well. Hopefully, I can continue the success."

Anderson, who led the team in goals scored for a significant portion of the season, believes the ball is no longer in his court on the decision whether or not he will play. He wants to contribute as quickly as possible to the team. He will need to assimilate quickly given that he only played one game since the trade deadline, on deadline day.

"I mean, it's up to him (head coach John Tortorella)," Anderson said to the gathered media. "I'm just going to be waiting here, ready to play whenever. I feel pretty good. I felt pretty good practicing for the first time with the team there, and hopefully I'll be ready to play real soon. It's just a coach's decision. I think I'm ready to play."

The playoffs are looming, and every player is dealing with an injury. Anderson acknowledges this and knows that he will need to play injured to make an impact for his team. Anderson is another in a long line of hockey players willing to lay it all on the line, even for a regular season game.

"This is the time of year you push through things (injuries) and go from there."
