The Columbus Blue Jackets follow up a previous weak performance against the Los Angeles Kings with a perplexing performance against the Anaheim Ducks.

It is becoming increasingly unclear what motivates Columbus and what it will take for the team to play with any sort of urgency. The team continues to rack up losses without much fight.

  1 2 3 OT F
BLUE JACKETS 0 1 1 0 2
DUCKS 0 2 0 1 3

The first period saw the Blue Jackets come out flat. The Ducks outshot them in the first period and it was a familiar sight to a Columbus team that seems to only get up for certain moments of the game.

The second period was more action packed but it saw the Blue Jackets get the puck shoved down their throat some more. It doesn't matter the situation, they seem to allow other teams to take the ice from them. Pierre-Luc Dubois scored the goal in the frame but Cam Fowler added two more during the period to give the Ducks the lead entering the third.

Not to spoil too much but the Blue Jackets didn't do much during the third period as well until very late in the final frame where Dubois added another tally. It was a game that didn't feel like it should go to overtime. Nonetheless, the Blue Jackets managed to get a point from the game.

In 3v3 OT, Fowler completed his hat-trick and put away Columbus mercifully. They'll need to go back to the drawing board again. A complete game hasn't come and if this performance is any indication, there might not be one happening any time soon.

Injury Update

The Blue Jackets are currently fully healthy.
