The Columbus Blue Jackets have come through in the clutch with a win at home against a tough Dallas Stars team. The Blue Jackets were able to prevail due to hard work and straight forward play. Will it work when they take on the Washington Capitals?

Last postseason, the Blue Jackets took on the Capitals in a tiring playoff series. The Blue Jackets eventually fell to the Capitals but it is a sting that likely hasn't gone away. If the Blue Jackets are going to get up for a game, it will likely be this one. The motivation should be through the roof.

It is believed that the Blue Jackets will be going with the same lineup that the team put on the ice against the Stars, meaning it will be another game without dynamic forward Oliver Bjorkstrand.

STORYLINES

  • Revenge? Just how much is that going to come into play? Are they going to go straight at the Capitals like they did the Stars? Will it work? A lot of questions are at play and it remains to be seen if the Blue Jackets can play a consistent game.
  • The Blue Jackets defensemen are going to be facing a stiff test again and it will take a mobile unit to get past the Capitals. They are going to come at Columbus in droves, they'll need to stand tall for the team to any have chance.
