As the Winnipeg Jets come to town to take on the Columbus Blue Jackets, they may be coming off one of their worst losses of the entire season to the Edmonton Oilers the day before.

Absolutely listless and no fire underneath during the entirety of the game, the Blue Jackets needed a kick in the pants in the worst way. Getting a butt-kicking courtesy of the Oilers, should wake them up. If it doesn't, that is when they should begin to worry.

The Jets are loaded all over the ice and one wrong play could turn the Blue Jackets evening into a stunningly poor one. This is going to be a butt-clenching affair.

Projected Lines

Atkinson - Dubois - Panarin

Dzingel - Duchene - Bjorkstrand

Foligno - Jenner - Anderson

Robinson - Nash - Dubinsky

Defensemen

Werenski - Jones

Nutivaara - Savard

Harrington - McQuaid

Goaltenders

Bobrovsky/Korpisalo

Storylines
  • The Blue Jackets have to start on the right foot after getting down early in their past three games. The Jets have the offensive firepower with Blake Wheeler, Patrik Laine, and Mark Schiefle. Add that to the fact that they just acquired forward Kevin Hayes, you can be beaten in a multitude of ways. Getting started early could put them on their heels. An unfamiliar sight for the Central Division leader.
  • We won't know the Blue Jackets exact lineup until close to game time but it will be interesting to see how everything is going to shake out for the home team. Are they going to sit anybody unexpectedly? Is a defenseman going to be rotated in to ensure that the pairings find some semblance of chemistry? What is currently being trotted out isn't working. Time for a change. But where?
