There's quite the Clarkson connection in the Blue Jackets' organization now.

Jarmo Kekalainen is a Clarkson University graduate, and now, the Blue Jackets have another Clarkson alumnus in their system.

Today, the club announced the signing of center Josh Dunne, who just completed his junior season at Clarkson. It's a two-year, entry-level contract, and Dunne will report to Cleveland to begin his time in the organization. During his time at Clarkson, the 22-year-old tallied 29-26-55 in 78 career games. He was named the ECAC's Best Defensive Forward after the 2019-20 season.

Mike G. Morreale of NHL.com writes that "Dunne can fill a bottom-six role in a lineup, is good on the penalty kill and relentless on the forecheck," which sounds like the perfect mold for John Tortorella's system.

He's got some ties to Columbus, too. Dunne attended the Blue Jackets’ 2019 Development Camp, and both of his sisters played hockey for Ohio State. Jincy was a two-time All-American at Ohio State from 2016-20, and Jessica played three seasons for the Buckeyes from 2014-17.
