Good news and bad news.

Good news: The Jackets activated Patrik Laine off injured reserve ahead of Tuesday's matchup with the Coyotes.

Bad news: The club announced they placed Justin Danforth on injured reserve with a torn labrum that will sideline him for six months. He is scheduled to undergo surgery on Monday.

Brad Larsen said it's nice to have Laine back in the lineup.

"He's excited to play," Larsen said. "But again, it's one jersey and he hasn't played in a couple of weeks so we got to keep playing. We can't sit back and keep patting ourselves on the back for one win on the road."

Larsen isn't happy about losing Danforth.

"To put it bluntly, it sucks," Larsen said. "Because last year he was on his way to the miners, right? He's down there. This year, I can't live without him. He was the guy that was like I said the Swiss Army knife. I could put him at center, move him up and down my lineup. He was on the power plate."

Laine will make his second appearance of the season tonight against the Coyotes at 7 p.m. at Nationwide Arena. The game will be broadcast on Bally Sports Ohio and 97.1 FM The Fan.
