Owen Tippett's Two Goals Push Flyers Past Blue Jackets 4-3 in OT

The Flyers beat the Blue Jackets 4-3 in overtime after a back-and-forth game at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia Tuesday. 

1st Period

Michael Hutchinson made a huge save on Noah Cates from the low slot at 5:19.

Liam Foudy opened the scoring at 9:47 when he whacked a back-hand shot past Carter Hart following a rebound from Carson Meyer, who was set up by a nice pass by Tim Berni, who picked up his first-career assist on the play.

Trey Fix-Wolansky capitalized on a turnover by Cates and beat Hart with a left-circle wrist shot at 12:43.

Joel Farabee found open space in the slot and knuckled a shot past Hutchinson at 14:59.

James van Riemsdyk tied the game at 15:33 with a right-circle wrist shot after finding open ice. 

The teams were tied at two after one with the Flyers leading 15-9 in shots on goal.

2nd Period

Owen Tippett gave the Flyers the lead on the power play at 0:47 with a beautiful move to the net before going off the crossbar and in. 

Ivan Provorov nearly doubled the Flyers' lead at 12:49 when he hit the post. 

The Flyers led 3-2 after 40 minutes and took a 31-17 edge in shots on goal.

3rd Period

Johnny Gaudreau nearly tied the game early in the third period on a two-on-one rush alongside Kirill Marchenko when he fired a wrist shot from the left circle that was gloved by Hart.

Sean Kuraly tied the game on the power play at 5:50 when he deflected a point shot from Jake Christiansen.

Hutchinson made a huge save on Kevin Hayes from the low slot at 16:08.

The teams were tied at three heading into overtime with the Flyers leading 37-29 in shots on goal.

Overtime

Tippett won the game for the Flyers at 4:45 of overtime with a nice move and finish in the low slot.

With the loss, the Jackets fall to 24-47-9.
