Let's recap the last few days.

Saturday's game: not fun.

The game before: much better.

The Blue Jackets are treading water right now, which seems weird for a team that's 20-12-1 and a couple of points from the Metropolitan Division lead. But, if you look below, they're only four points from the playoff bar.

On the docket this week (an important one pre-holiday) are two tough road games, a tough home game, and an overarching opportunity to put a stake in the ground during an uneasy time. Their depth has taken a hit, their 5-on-5 play is suffering because of a woeful power play that can't support it, and Sergei Bobrovsky has looked normal-ish for the last week.

Boston is no joke. Pittsburgh is one breakout game from warming up. The Maple Leafs are awaiting the return of Auston Matthews in hopes that he can break them out of a funk. Meanwhile, the Blue Jackets are looking to lift a fog of their own, and they'll have to do so with a forward group that's gone dry offensively.

We're going to find out a lot about them this week. Hopefully, it's good.

HOLY SHIT, THE LAST JEDI

****SPOILERS****

Yes, spoilers are ahead.

Dead ahead.

Like, right now.

Ok. I warned you.

Luke's projection. Leia's Force-driven return from space. Kylo Ren's betrayal of Snoke. Rey's journey. Poe's education in leadership. Holdo's sacrifice.

The list goes on.

There are so many epic moments in this movie and so many interwoven storylines that I can't even begin to pick a favorite. All I know is this: The Last Jedi is the boldest and most daring Star Wars movie to date, and full credit goes to Rian Johnson for dispelling any notion of what he was "supposed to do" with his movie, and he made it his own within this universe we've come to love.

Risk is a big part of making a legendary film. There are risks abound in TLJ. They're emotional and appealing stories for all the lead characters, who have been challenged in new ways and led down different paths from what we thought we knew.

That's what makes it great. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go see it for a fourth time.
