After a lifeless loss to the Colorado Avalanche, the Columbus Blue Jackets responded with an 3-2 shootout win over the Florida Panthers on Sunday evening at Nationwide Arena.

Josh Anderson scored in the eighth round of the shootout to give the Jackets the lead, and Sergei Bobrovsky slammed the door on Jared McCann to clinch the win.

Both Bobrovsky and James Reimer came to play. The Blue Jackets recorded a season-high 48 shots, while the Panthers fired 44 of their own.

The first three goals of the game were all of the power play variety, and allowed the Blue Jackets to take a 2-1 lead into the third period.

The third period was largely dominated by the Panthers, and Alexander Barkov tied the game late to send it to overtime, and ultimately, a shootout.

The eight-round shootout saw Artemi Panarin and Jack Johnson score for the Blue Jackets and Barkov and Mike Matheson tally for the Panthers before Anderson scored the game-winner.

Pierre-Luc Dubois and Seth Jones had two power play points each.

Injury Update

Blue Jackets center Brandon Dubinsky and defenseman Ryan Murray skated in full equipment away from the team on Saturday as they near their return. Alex Wennberg skated as well, though he was just in a track suit, signaling he's still a ways away.

Next Up

The Blue Jackets don't have much time for a turnaround, as they will face the Toronto Maple Leafs tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at the Air Canada Centre. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Ohio.
