Youth has served the Columbus Blue Jackets well the past few seasons. One of the players that has benefited from increased playing time is Pierre-Luc Dubois.

As a rookie, Dubois is playing on a level that no one expected. In his past three games, Dubois has played 20+ minutes with one of those games being a season-high 24:59.

It wouldn't be hyperbole to state that Dubois has been a cornerstone of the Blue Jackets success this season. It was no different against the Maple Leafs.

"The entire game I thought we played well," said Dubois to the media postgame. "We had chances, they wouldn't go in, but Bob (Sergei Bobrovsky) played really well."

He plays on the Blue Jackets most successful line, and he is by no means a passenger.

He has also contributed to the man advantage this year proving that even rookies can contribute on special teams, even from the start. He has three power play goals and four power play assists. Those numbers put him at third on the club in power-play points.

All of this comes as Dubois' PDO is a little lower than the normal of 100. His currently sits at 98.8. He could be shooting a little better than what he has shown at even-strength which is a great development for the Blue Jackets.

"There was a little frustration when you can't score sometimes," said Dubois. "We kept going with it; we talked about it after the second (period). We have to keep going with it, we had chances, and we got rewarded."

The Blue Jackets had expectations for Dubois. He has already surpassed all of them by a wide margin.
