With a couple of days left in their NHL-mandated bye week, the Blue Jackets are still clinging to second place in the Metropolitan Division (that could change if the Devils beat the Islanders tonight). Only one game is on tap for this week, with the All-Star break fast approaching at the end of the month.

Thursday: A Star in the Making

The lone game this week for the Columbus Blue Jackets is a home match-up with the Dallas Stars.

Each team has exactly 53 points** (entering Monday's game) at this stage of the season and already met earlier this month – a 2-1 win for the Blue Jackets at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

The Stars have the advantage of health: no player with a point on their roster is currently out of the lineup, but the Blue Jackets should be the fresher team considering the Stars will be playing their third game in four days. Puck drops at 7 p.m. on Fox Sports Ohio and Fox Sports Southwest.
