The Blue Jackets announced Saturday that they activated Mathieu Olivier off injured reserve and placed Eric Robinson on waivers after giving him a "non-roster" designation, which clears a roster spot for Olivier.

Olivier began his second season as a Blue Jacket on injured reserve with a leg injury. In 2022-23, he posted 5-10--15 along with 81 PIM in 66 games. In 114 NHL games, he's registered 8-14--22 with 169 PIM. He's in the first year of a two-year, $1.1M AAV contract.

Robinson played 260 NHL games, all with the Blue Jackets, since debuting in 2018-19, scoring 37-44--81 including 12-12--24 in 71 games in 2022-23. He's in the final year of a two-year, $1.6M AAV contract.

The Blue Jackets host the New York Rangers on Saturday night at 7 p.m. ET as they'll try to earn their first victory of the season.
