Blue Jackets rookie center Adam Fantilli is expected to miss eight weeks with a calf laceration he suffered in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Kraken, the club announced on Wednesday.

The No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft has posted 12-15--27 in 49 games and is tied for third among rookies in goals and fourth among first-year players in points.

If he's out for the full eight weeks, he'll miss the team's next 22 games and return ahead of the Blue Jackets' final nine games of the season, starting with a Mar. 30 matchup with the Penguins.
