While the Blue Jackets have won just four of their first 13 games, their prospects are performing extremely well at their respective levels. 

Away from the NHL, the seasons of Blue Jackets prospects are in full swing. Here are the stats of these players so far this season:

2023 Draft

  • Gavin Brindley, F, Univ. of Michigan (NCAA), 34th overall pick: 11 GP, 9-6--15.

Brindley leads D-1 hockey in goals this season for the No. 8 Michigan Wolverines.

  • William Whitelaw, F, Univ. of Wisconsin (NCAA), 66th overall pick: 10 GP, 2-4--6
  • Andrew Strathmann, LD, Youngstown Phantoms (USHL), 98th overall pick: 11 GP, 2-9--11
  • Luca Pinelli, F, Ottawa 67's (OHL), 114th overall pick: 14 GP, 14-5--19

Pinelli is second in the OHL in goals and has recorded a hat trick in back-to-back games. 

  • Melvin Strahl, G, Modo Jr. (Swe-Jr), 156th overall pick: 13 GP, 5-7-0, .907SV%, 2.82 GAA
  • Oiva Keskinen, F, Tappara Tampere (SM-liiga), 194th overall pick: 20 GP, 2-11--13
  • Tyler Peddle, F, Drummondville Voltigeurs (QMJHL), 224th overall pick: 19 GP: 3-2--5

2022 Draft

  • Denton Mateychuk, LD, Moose Jaw Warriors (WHL), 12th overall pick: 13 GP, 4-16--20

Mateychuk is fourth among WHL defensemen in points/game this season. 

  • Luca Del Bel Belluz, F, Cleveland Monsters (AHL), 44th overall pick: 5 GP, 2-3--5
  • Jordan Dumais, F, Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL), 69th overall pick: 9 GP, 11-13--24

Dumais just recorded his 300th point with Halifax and is one point shy of the franchise record. He leads the QMJHL in points/game.

  • Kirill Dolzhenkov, F, Zvezda Moskva (VHL), 109th overall pick: 13 GP, 5-4--9
  • Sergei Ivanov, G, Vladivostok Admiral (KHL), 138th overall pick: 11 GP, 3-5-1, .928SV%
  • James Fisher, F, Penticton Vees (BCHL), 203rd overall pick: 16 GP, 10-2--12

2021 Draft

  • Kent Johnson, LW/C, Cleveland Monsters (AHL), 5th overall pick: 3 GP, 2-3--5

Johnson played center in Friday's game where he scored his first two AHL goals.
