The Vegas Golden Knights were not event supposed to sniff the Stanley Cup Playoffs their first season. Instead, they won their conference and let me tell you, the city and franchise were J-A-C-K-E-D to host Game One of their opening round series against the Los Angeles Kings.

A six-minute intro spectacle preceded the game at T-Mobile Arena, featuring medieval combat, a night watchman at a castle, a neon drum line and so much more. It was 80% Medieval Times, 20% cheese and 100% Las Vegas.

But who are we to throw shade on whatever it is that Vegas did prior to the game. It clearly worked as the Golden Knights scored just 3:23 into the first period to take an early 1-0 lead that's still in play at the time of this writing.

If Siegfried and Roy don't kick off Game Two with white tigers, we're going to be very disappointed.
