Some trends stay trendy.

Popular themes this season for the Columbus Blue Jackets have been playing one-goal games — they've played 14 of 21 this season (8-4-2).

Another one is Adam Fantilli scoring goals against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In Thursday night's 3-2 overtime win in Toronto, Fantilli had three points, including an assist on Dmitri Voronkov's second-period goal at 3:17 to give Columbus the 1-0 lead, his 50th career goal to give Columbus a 2-0 lead at 12:01 of the period, and the overtime winner at 4:21.

(Second period, 3:17 — Voronkov Goal):

A three-point night capped off by the game-winner against his hometown team, growing up in nearby Nobleton, Ontario.

"I went home yesterday, my mom must have put something in the food," Fantilli said after the win.

You'll recall that last January, Fantilli scored his first career hat trick at Scotiabank Arena in the Jackets' 5-1 romp over the Leafs. In eight career games against Toronto, Fantilli has eight career points (six goals, two assists).

A mere 11 days ago, we wrote about Fantilli having a slow start to the season from a scoring perspective.

He's now up to 16 points (eight goals, eight assists) in 21 games this season after only registering five points (two goals, three assists). Fantilli has 11 points in November (six goals, five assists).

Since Nov. 8, the day Fantilli was reunited with Dmitri Voronkov and Kirill Marchenko, he has 10 points (six goals, four assists).

Zach Werenski had a three-assist night, passing Cam Aktinson for second place in points (403) in Blue Jackets franchise history. Werenski is on a five-game point streak (two goals, six assists).

Jet Greaves picked up his first career win against the Maple Leafs in his second career game, both taking place in Toronto (1-1, .936 SV%, 2.43 GAA). His first career game in 2023 was a record-setter when he made a franchise-best 46 saves, the most ever for a goalie making his Blue Jacket debut. The record is nice, but the Jackets lost 4-2 that night, and all he cared about was getting a win.

On Thursday, the Cambridge, Ontario native was exceptional, making 27 saves.

"It was a lot of fun," Greaves said. "I thought the guys were great in front of me. Even when we gave up that goal in the third, I thought the way we were playing didn't change.

"Obviously good to get a positive result in the end."

Fantilli and the Blue Jackets head to Detroit to face off with the Red Wings on Saturday afternoon. What will Werenski have in store for his home away from home?
