The Columbus Blue Jackets 2026-27 schedule is out.
The 84-game schedule was released Thursday by the team and the NHL, and begins with a home contest on Thursday, October 1 against the Buffalo Sabres.
It is the earliest home opener in franchise history.
That kicks off a stretch of seven of nine games at Nationwide Arena, the most they've had at home in the first nine games in club history. Included in that is a 6:15 p.m. puck-drop on Tuesday, October 13 against the Florida Panthers, which is part of the NHL's third-annual Frozen Frenzy.
Longtime captain Boone Jenner, now with the Washington Capitals, makes his return to Nationwide Arena on New Year's Eve. That's a 2:00 p.m. game and is one of three home games with an early start time in the regular season. The other two are against Detroit Red Wings on Black Friday (November 27, 3:00 p.m. start) and a 1:00 p.m. puck-drop against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday, December 12.

The regular season ends Saturday, April 10 against Matthew Schaefer and the New York Islanders in a game that has the potential to be a high-stakes divisional showdown.
The longest homestand of the season is a five-game run at the end of February and running into March. It kicks off February 20 against the Nashville Predators and concludes March 1 against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Islanders (twice) and New Jersey Devils are also a part of that homestand.
On the flip side, the Blue Jackets have four four-game road trips, with one each in November, December, January, and February.

The Blue Jackets have four home-and-home series, three of which are against Metro division foes and all of which have the Blue Jackets on the road in the first game of the set. Columbus will play the Devils on November 23 and November 25, the New York Rangers on January 3 and January 5, and the Capitals on April 3 and April 6. The fourth is a back-to-back February 9 and February 11 against the Ottawa Senators.
