Columbus Blue Jackets trade Keegan Kolesar to Vegas Golden Knights for 45th Pick in the NHL Draft, select Alexandre Texier

More trade action early in the second day of the draft.

The Columbus Blue Jackets traded prospect right wing Keegan Kolesar to the Vegas Golden Knights for the 45th pick in the NHL Draft. The Blue Jackets selected center Alexandre Texier with the pick.

Kolesar played for the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League (WHL) last year where he scored 60 points in 54 games. In the playoffs this past season he scored 31 points in 19 games. 

Texier played in the top French league and scored 19 points in 40 games. In the WJC U20 D1A this past season put up eight points in five games. 

Kolesar is signed to an entry level contract and will be joining the American Hockey League (AHL) this next season.
