It might just be a Monster Mash after all.

The Columbus Blue Jackets' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters, have announced their home opener for the 2017-18 season.

On Saturday, Oct. 7, the Monsters will face off against the Rockford IceHogs, the Chicago Blackhawks AHL affiliate, at Quicken Loans Arena. The IceHogs play in the Central Division along with the Monsters.

The Blue Jackets will also be visiting the Blackhawks for their home opener the same day at the United Center. The rest of the AHL schedule was released Tuesday.

The Monsters finished last season 39-29-0-8, narrowly missing the Calder Cup Playoffs after winning a championship the season prior. Head coach John Madden will return behind the bench for his second season.
