Everyone take a big deep breath.

The Columbus Blue Jackets didn't come out of their west coast swing with nothing. They were able to down the San Jose Sharks and keep pace in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

  1 2 3 F
BLUE JACKETS 2 1 1 4
SHARKS 0 1 1 2

The first period was a lot like their other starts from this trip, they were scoring goals and making plays. Nick Foligno started off the scoring after leaving the penalty box. He gave the Blue Jackets a lead that they would not relinquish again. It would be followed up with a goal by Sonny Milano but in reality, Boone Jenner set it up with a great pass and move. The Blue Jackets were cruising in the first period.

The second period would be a more interesting period as the Blue Jackets would score but the Sharks toward the end of the period turned this into a game by scoring a goal and constantly putting pressure on Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky.

The third period would be more of the same and the Blue Jackets would try to hang on for long portions of the period. Evander Kane would score a goal to bring the game within one.

The game would end with a two-goal lead after the Artemi Panarin would score his second of the night and would put the cherry on top of a peculiar goal by the Blue Jackets.

Injury Update

Defenseman Dean Kukan and Markus Nutivaara are both out with upper body injuries and are not skating. Forward Josh Anderson is out with an injury to his knee.
