The Athletic Chicago reported on Friday that the Chicago Blackhawks would be "very seriously considered" by Blue Jackets forward Artemi Panarin as a landing destination.

Panarin, you'll recall, was traded from Chicago in a 2017 blockbuster in a package that sent Brandon Saad to Chicago.

While in Chicago, Panarin had great success playing opposite Patrick Kane, but set a career-high in points (82) in his only season in Columbus.

Scott Powers, the author of the article, said Dan Milstein, Panarin's agent, would not comment on the report.

Panarin met with Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen in July and, per reports, gave management a Sept. 13 deadline for handing contract negotiations. Panarin becomes an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2019.
