Being a first-round pick comes with a lot of expectations, and it doesn't matter if you're a top five pick or the last pick of the first round – it comes with pressure.

That's the same pressure facing Blue Jackets 2018 first round pick Liam Foudy as he makes his debut at the Traverse City prospects tournament.

"Here (Traverse City) I want to show my skills and show what I can do out there," Foudy said in an interview released by the team.

Foudy isn't without skill; he's fast and seems to think the game quickly, as well. Getting the rest of his game up to speed is where he'll face some pressure as a first-round pick.

His past summer, including the draft, feels like but a moment in time.

"It feels like so much has gone down since then, almost forgot about it," Foudy said. He also said he was not only busy with the draft, but with multiple international tournaments that took place seemingly every two weeks.

When asked about his ambitions for training camp, his goals are clear.

"You want to be confident to try and make the team," Foudy said. "You never know what's going to happen, so you go out there like you have your whole life and see where things go from there."
