Jalen Ramsey just gave us another reason to be excited about hockey season (though we do love football).

In an interview with ESPN Magazine’s Mina Kimes, Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey claimed that he could probably crack the NHL, if he had six months of intense training.

"He's never tried skating," Kimes also wrote.

The backlash was immediate and very stern from a body of NHL players, from Connor McDavid to Evander Kane, and even the Blue Jackets' own Seth Jones.

The original response from Seth Jones, amongst other NHL stars came directly from ESPN's Emily Kaplan reaching out to players:

As word spread, other stars then sat down with NHL media, this time giving more descriptive answers:

In his video sound bite, Jones added "I think it'd be easier if I had six months to play corner," speaking to Ramsey's position in the NFL.

Regardless if Ramsey's comments were playful, they were not taken as such by the majority of NHL players asked about it. Let the war for television ratings and attendance during the months of October and January continue.
