Next man up.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have been bitten by the injury bug and because of it, I-71 has been seeing a lot of use by the Cleveland Monsters.

Defenseman Andrew Peeke will be out four to six weeks with a broken finger after taking a puck to the hand. Subsequently, defenseman Gabriel Carlsson has been called up in the meantime to replace the mobile defenseman.

Carlsson was a former first round pick and may be running out of opportunities with the big club. He will have seen games in four straight seasons without having established himself. This stretch of games should be a telltale sign of where his trajectory lands him.
