In this day and age, analytics are used every day to improve hockey teams.

Today, the Blue Jackets made two additions to their analytics department with the hiring of Josh Weissbock and Cam Lawrence. Their official titles are Hockey Analytic Consultants. Alison Lukan was first with the news.

Weissbock served as a Prospect Consulting Specialist for the Florida Panthers for the last six years. Lawrence also spent the last six years with the Panthers as an Amateur Scouting Consultant.

With the additions of Weissbock and Lawrence, the Blue Jackets' analytics department is now one of the biggest in the league. The Maple Leafs and Islanders are the only teams that employ more than four in that department.
