The Blue Jackets have cut their roster to 26.

The club announced the following moves as it continues to trim its roster ahead of Monday afternoon's deadline to cut the roster to 23 players:

  •  Placed right wing Emil Bemstrom on waivers for the purpose of assignment to the Cleveland Monsters
  • Assigned goaltender Jet Greaves to Cleveland
  • Released defenseman Ben Harpur from his professional tryout contract

The Blue Jackets selected Bemstrom with the 117th pick in the 2017 NHL Draft. In 117 career NHL regular-season games, all with Columbus, he posted 19 goals and 17 assists. In 2021-22, he scored six goals and five assists in 41 games. He also appeared in five playoff games, all in the 2020 bubble.

Greaves stopped 45 of 51 shots in three preseason games in 2022.

Harpur played in the team's first preseason game and suffered an injury that caused him to miss the remaining games.

The 2022-23 Blue Jackets season opens on Wednesday night in Carolina as they'll take on the Hurricanes at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on Bally Sports and can be listened to on 97.1 FM The Fan.
