Gavin Brindley has been fantastic at the 2024 IIHF World Juniors, and the hockey world is taking notice.

On this week's episode of Spittin' Chiclets, co-host and former NHL defenseman Ryan Whitney praised Brindley, who leads the World Juniors with six goals in five games for Team USA, who plays Finland in the semi-finals on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. ET.

"This Gavin Brindley kid is so good," Whitney said. "So dynamic. Columbus stole this kid in the second round. Absolutely stole him. I don't know how he doesn't go in the first round. He's smaller. So quick. He's dynamic. He lit up Michigan last year and somehow he's not picked in the first round. And Columbus gets him with his best buddy Fantilli going second overall. So that's a player I can't wait to watch in the NHL. He'll be there soon enough."

After posting 12-26--38 as a freshman at Michigan and 1-3--4 in seven games at the 2023 World Juniors in 2022-23, the Blue Jackets selected Brindley with the 34th overall pick in the 2023 Draft after selecting his linemate and best friend Adam Fantilli with the 3rd overall pick a day earlier.

This season, he's registered 10-8--18 in 18 games at Michigan and 6-2--8 in five games at the World Juniors.
