Blue Jackets prospect and Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL) forward Jordan Dumais has been suspended for five games, his club announced on Friday. According to The Athletic's Aaron Portzline, Dumais was charged with a DUI in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The Mooseheads released the following statement:

"Halifax Mooseheads forward Jordan Dumais violated the QMJHL and the team's code of conduct, and has been suspended five (5) games.

"Dumais, who is back healthy, will miss the remainder of the regular season and the first game of the playoffs. Since this was an off-ice infraction, the matter was handled internally while the team remained in constant communication with the League.

"The QMJHL and the Mooseheads demand exemplary behavior from all its players, both on and off the ice. Dumais's suspension began on March 14, against the Charlottetown Islanders.

"The team and Dumais will have no further comment."

The Blue Jackets selected Dumais with the No. 96 overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft before he went on to win the QMJHL MVP in 2022-23 by scoring 54-86--140 in 64 games. This season, he became the franchise's all-time leading scorer and has posted 16-31--47 in 21 games. He also posted 1-1--2 in five games for Canada at the 2024 IIHF World Juniors. He hasn't played since then as he underwent successful surgery to repair bilateral inguinal hernias.
